Selwyn sides dominate the quarterfinals of the Luisetti Seeds Combined Country division one rugby competition following the final round of round-robin play over the weekend.
Tai Tapu-based Waihora, one of the stand-out teams so far this season, qualified top of its section following a narrow 10–6 win over North Canterbury side Glenmark Cheviot.
Waihora will now meet Darfield in the quarterfinals this weekend and will have home ground advantage for the clash. Darfield sat out the weekend’s round with a bye.
Defending champions Southbridge qualified for the quarters after a 28–21 win over West Melton and will face surprise package, Springston, this weekend. Springston, in its first year in the competition, made the quarterfinals despite a 12–17 loss to Prebbleton on Saturday.
The win saw Prebbleton through to the quarters where it will face Lincoln, which edged Saracens from Rangiora 34–22 at Lincoln Domain. Despite the loss, Saracens also progress through to quarters where it will meet Mid Canterbury side Rakaia, a 33–29 winner over Kaiapoi on the weekend.

The combined Burnham Dunsandel Irwell side (BDI) will now compete in the Plate section of the competition following its 32–13 demolition of Ohoka.
Rolleston, which was thumped by Methven 61–21 over the weekend, and West Melton will now compete for the Plaque section title.
