Beauty and the Beast

After four months of rehearsals, the curtains have risen on CentreStage Rolleston’s latest show, Beauty and the Beast, bringing people of Rolleston and the wider Selwyn community together for the performance. “After the success of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last year and most recently Peter Pan JR, it was an easy decision to perform another show in Rolleston with the community wanting more in the way of entertainment in the performing arts,” says production manager Courtney Hyde. “There are 35 cast members and 40 people involved in the production team. Some are new to theatre, and some are new to Rolleston. It is a great way to find a group that has plenty in common. There are so many areas that come together to provide the magic that is seen on stage. The show runs until November 23 and tickets are available at centrestagerolleston.org.nz. “We have received exceptional reviews, and the cast are performing phenomenally well. We are very proud of the high standard of acting we are seeing.”
