Fun for the family

Selwyn Parenting Network is presenting the Family Fun Day on Thursday, October 10 from 11am to 2pm at Lincoln Events Centre.
“The Lincoln Events Centre will be transformed into a fun celebration of activities and entertainment for children, parents and caregivers — rain, hail or shine,” says Selwyn Parenting Network coordinator Kate Webb.
“This year’s focus is all about collaboration. Last year saw the introduction of interactive informational hubs for children and parents. It added value to the usual loved entertainment and activities that ultimately embrace the ideal of families spending quality time together.”
SPN provides a ‘Parenting Signpost’ — highlighting the service providers and community organisations available within the region.
“Our strategic priorities include collaboration across the Selwyn region.
These innovative, fun and educational hubs cater to the interests of children and parents or caregivers alike. We are delighted that we can showcase a wonderful mix of old and new activities and entertainment whilst highlighting topical interests through our fun and interactive hubs, which will include nutrition, sport, wellbeing, social skills, creativity and sensory skills.
“Maintaining a Selwyn District Parenting Network, which promotes and encourages both development and empowerment of parents and caregivers, is crucial given that so many young families are driving the population growth of our region — the fastest-growing region of New Zealand.
“Our flagship events truly embrace the ideal of families spending quality time together, and we enjoy attracting families from right across Selwyn to give them an affordable and enjoyable event.
