Selwyn Plunket is encouraging family time this Father’s Day with games and activities at the Arcadia Retro Arcade and Pinball Emporium.

“It is a Christchurch wide event, and we are aiming for children to come along and join in the fun and games with dads, grandads or father figures they may have. It will be a great afternoon of gaming from back in the day,” says organiser Anna Nurse.

“We have joined forces with other groups to better support our large community of families and caregivers. Life can be hectic, and this is a great way to spend time with the children in your life on Father’s Day.

“Join us at 204 Barbadoes St, Christchurch on Sunday, September 1 from 4pm–8pm for four hours of gameplay. There will be food and drink available to purchase. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 0–16 years of age available from our Facebook events page.

“We are also looking for volunteers to help with an event celebrating New Zealand families of all types, as parents, grandparents, relatives, step and foster parents raise children now — it is not just mums and dads raising our babies. Everyone is important, and we are hoping to bring people together to celebrate the diverse makeup of the New Zealand family to tie in with Step Parents Day in September.”
