The company that looks after our roads has won a major national award for its work in Selwyn.
HEB Construction took out the award for excellence in the maintenance and management of assets for its work maintaining 2,600 kilometres of roads across the Selwyn District at this year’s CCNZ Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards.
The company contracts to the Selwyn District Council.
The council’s infrastructure group manager Murray Washington congratulated HEB saying: “For a district like Selwyn, which is addressing significant population growth and the associated growth in vehicles, particularly heavy vehicle traffic, meeting people’s expectations and living within budget means it’s important we have a roading partner looking at innovative ways to manage roading, and we congratulate HEB on this award.”
HEB Construction’s national manager road maintenance Lee Hautler said the company was delighted to have won the award and receive recognition for its work in Selwyn.
“HEB has been contracted to the Selwyn District Council to maintain the district’s roading network since 2010. It was sensational to see the Selwyn District Council and our own HEB team recognised as industry leaders of excellence. The judges were impressed with our submission that showcased the collaborative environment the Selwyn District Council transport team had enabled and subsequent innovations that had been collectively achieved,” Hautler said.
