Clothing sale donations

If you have used garments or fashion accessories cluttering up your wardrobe, the Lincoln Scout Group can use them for their annual clothing sale on Sunday, June 23.

They will even arrange pickups.

The group’s secretary Sandra Poff said they were looking for quality items that the new owners would be proud to own. That included donations of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, and accessories such as shoes, bags, scarves and jewellery. Undergarments wouldn’t be accepted.

All proceeds from the sale would help representatives of the 100-strong group attend the 22nd New Zealand Scout Jamboree at Mystery Creek, Poff said.

The Lincoln Scout Group is one of the largest in the Port Hills zone and, as Selwyn grows so does the demand for the group’s services. “As well as providing challenging activities that develop personal and practical skills, we also provide an environment for our youth members and their families/whanau to develop friendships or get to know people in their community; something that is becoming increasingly important as the population of Lincoln and surrounding areas are growing rapidly,” Poff said.

“Community service and learning about our community also forms a large part of our programme, and we are proud to support and enhance our community where needed.”

To donate to the clothing sale, drop off items at 32 Prebblewood Drive, Prebbleton, or contact Sandra Poff secretary@lincolnscouts.org.nz to arrange pickups.
