This year’s Sheffield Rugby Club’s mountain bike race attracted a record number of cyclists, boosted for the first time by 15 entrants who chose to run the race. Event organiser Tom Fergusson said they ran the event under perfect conditions. Ollie Peace, won the men’s cycle race, breaking the course record by four seconds in a time of one hour four minutes and 33 seconds. Katie Symons won the women’s race in a time of one hour 25 minutes and 37 seconds. K Docherty won the men’s run and Bex Mclean the women’s. The event raised $7,000 for the Sheffield Rugby Club’s and Sheffield Cricket Club’s junior sides.“We will definitely have it again next year,” Mr Fergusson said.
