Presenting a Christmas Carol
by Ann van Engelen
In the lead up to the festive season, Lincoln High School junior drama students are presenting A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens with the proceeds being donated to KidsCan charity.
“The students have been busy rehearsing, and can think of no better way to get into the festive season than to be a part of the performance showcasing their talents to the community,” says drama teacher Sandra McLean.
“I am excited about the fundraiser and the students are so proud.”
Students Sophie Moore, Beth Farrell, Lizzie Ogden, Angus and Kees, say it has been amazing because of the quality costumes, production and acting. They love the story and they believe they are worth going to watch.
“We have never done anything like this, and it will be amazing to perform,” says Sam Denley. All profits from the shows will be directly donated to the charity to supply basic needs to school children.
“We are really excited to see this show in action, it is going to be good fun for the audience as well as the cast,” says student Siena Jenkins.
There will be four shows on December 10 at 10am, 1pm, 6pm and 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased online at trybooking.co.nz/nv for $5 each, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for block bookings of 10 or more at a discounted rate of $4 a ticket.
For school groups teachers are free.
