Part of the 80-strong cast busy at rehearsals

Ready to GO GO GO Joseph

by Mike Isle

CentreStage Rolleston is in rehearsals for their debut show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, hitting the stage from November 15 through to November 24 2018. The Rolleston Primary School Hall is set to be transported into the land of Egypt.

The show is set to be of epic proportions — with an 80-strong cast of local talent (40 children and 40 adults). Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is celebrating its 50th year this year — so CentreStage Rolleston jumped at the chance to perform the well-known musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Described as a rock disco the show has won many awards over the years, and audience members will delight in well-known songs such as Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door and even a surprise element of Elvis. Central to the vision of CentreStage was the ability to offer quality local theatre to the growing community of Rolleston. The team behind CentreStage Rolleston have a huge amount of combined experience. The creative team for the debut is Phil Dean, Darren Weber and Anna Randall.

Tickets go live from October 12 on

There are nine shows November 15–17 and November 21–24 with matinees included to suit families.
