Audiobook rockstar Stig Wemyss is coming to Selwyn this month.

Stig is a well-known Australian actor who has appeared in numerous television shows, feature films and live theatre productions over many years.

However, he has a growing reputation for his hilarious audio interpretations of some of the best children’s books in Australasia, including high-profile authors such as Andy Griffiths, Tim Winton and Paul Jennings.

With the backing of Selwyn Libraries he will be reading to a number of school children at invite-only events on Monday, July 23 involving Leeston, Clearview and West Melton primary school students.

Over the last six years, Stig has been making live appearances in schools and libraries across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

His one-man show, Stig Live @ the Library, is aimed specifically at primary school-age children between the ages of seven and 12 years old. Following a recent performance at the Opotiki District Library, head librarian, Jo Hunt said, “Stig is very, very engaging. He had the whole crowd eating out of his hand with his energised performance.”
