The Selwyn District Council is bringing back Selwyn Movie Nights to help locals get through the winter.
The first event will be a screening of The Greatest Showman this Friday night at the Rolleston College auditorium.
The movie celebrates the birth of show business with a focus on American Phineas Taylor Barnum, who among other things founded the Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Doors open at 6.30pm and the show runs from 7pm to 8.45pm. People can bring their own movie snack, although not hot food, and snacks will also be available for purchase at the venue.
There are only a limited amount of seats available, so bookings are essential.
