Busy month for Lincoln Envirotown
by Kent Caddick
July is shaping up to be a busy time for the Lincoln Envirotown Trust.
LET project manager, Dave Fitzjohn said two events, in particular, ask for Selwyn people’s involvement in creating a sustainable community.
The first of these is a documentary, Living the Change, which will be screened at Weedons School on Thursday, July 5 at 7pm.
“Living the Change explores solutions to the global crises we face today,” Mr Fitzjohn said.
“The solutions come through the inspiring stories of people in New Zealand pioneering change in their own lives, and in their communities in order to live in a sustainable and regenerative way.
“We invite you to come and find out about Living the Change. Refreshments will be provided, and people will be invited to join a short discussion after the film showing.”
People can find out more on the evening by registering their interest at doco-livingthechange.eventbrite.co.nz.
Mr Fitzjohn said the second event, to be held at the Lincoln Bowling Club on Sunday, July 22 from 1pm to 4pm, is a Community Engagement Day in which people of all ages are invited to come and consider Selwyn’s environment and its future. “Lincoln Envirotown sees this as a great opportunity for those who live in Selwyn, to join in generating and discussing ideas on how our community can create a sustainable future for the district,” he said.
