Selwyn community groups are being invited to apply for funding under the government’s Community Organisation Grants Scheme.

Applications are now open for the 2018–19 round of funding under the scheme, which is aimed at building strong sustainable communities.

The scheme will fund non-profit groups and organisations delivering community-based social services, projects and events.

Community and Voluntary Sector Minister, Peeni Henare, said last year, over $12 million was granted to voluntary and community groups across the country.

“This funding will help ensure that vital services are provided in local communities,” Mr Henare said.

“I encourage Selwyn community groups, iwi, and whanau to take up this opportunity and apply to their Local Distribution Committee.”

The 2018–19 Community Organisation Grants Scheme funding round will continue until May 23.
