Lincoln rocked by Selwyn Sounds

Lincoln rocked out to the sounds of some of the best musicians from Australasia on the weekend with the second running of the Selwyn Sounds music festival.
Held at the Lincoln Domain on Saturday, the event drew a crowd of around 10,000, which was well up on last year’s event, making it the biggest one day musical event to be held in Selwyn.
The biggest drawcard was legendary Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes, but he was well supported by some of New Zealand’s best including: Andrew Fagan and the Mockers, Boh Runga and Stellar, The Narcs and The Feelers.
One of the organisers, David Parlane, said there were around 2,500 people more than last year’s inaugural event and they learnt a lot from this year’s event, which they will get right for next year.
The Record would like to thank Shane Jones from Shane Jones Photography for these images from Selwyn Sounds 2018.
