Triathlon series winding up
by Kent Caddick
The Lake Crichton Triathlon Series winds up this Friday with the third and final event.
The 2018 Lake Crichton Series, run by the Selwyn Sports Trust, is a three race series utilising the world-class, man-made Lake Crichton on Frasers Road, near Dunsandel.
Trust chief executive, Michael Wilson, said the first two races of the Frontrunner Lake Crichton Series have been a fantastic advertisement for the Selwyn district.
“Conditions have been as good as we could have hoped and we have seen a large range of athletes test themselves on the course together,” Mr Wilson said.
“It has been really cool seeing a mix of returning athletes from previous years and first time entrants, as well as the range of experience levels too.
“A major goal of the series is to be an event for first timers and it is really pleasing seeing people’s confidence grow over the course of the series.”
Mr Wilson said they would like to thank Chris and Robyn Wright for the use of Lake Crichton and the numerous volunteers and supporters who make it such a success.
