Sounds like rock royalty

Woodstock, Glastonbury, Rock in Rio — and now Selwyn Sounds.

The list of must see concert festivals has grown by one this year, and luckily for rock fans, it’s a homegrown occasion.

Heading up a roll call of local and international classic rock favourites is veteran touring musician and hitmaker Jimmy Barnes, who has made a name for himself both as the lead singer of Cold Chisel and in his solo career. Barnes will lead a strong playbill of rockers including The Feelers, Stellar, Mental as Anything, The Mockers, The Warratahs, The Ladykillers and The Narcs.

Lincoln Domain is the venue once again and put a ring around March 3 on your calendar. Adding to the sound of accomplished rock masters is the promise of great food on offer. The Selwyn Sounds culinary selection will feature an army of cuisine specialists, offering everything from kebabs and espresso coffee to dumplings, sushi and whitebait.

With a whole day of fun priced from just $119 — that’s $15 per classic band — it’s a great excuse to get on your dancing shoes!
