Old fashioned summer fun
by Anonymous Author
There’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy and in the Selwyn region there are lots of fun events to attend, which will help you make the most of those balmy evenings and sunny days.
Taking a leaf from the book of the old-time American summers you may have seen on the big screen is a series of drive-in movies. They’ll be firing up the projector at the Darfield domain on February 9, the Rolleston reserve on February 16 and Anderson Square in Leeston on March 2.
Another great old-fashioned idea is the traditional street party — a chance to meet and greet your neighbours, enjoy a summer sausage sizzle and mingle.
Already a great success through December and January, the free events roll on through February and March encompassing Prebbleton, Darfield, Rolleston, Lincoln and Southbridge.
It’s free to come along and a full schedule is available online at selwyn.govt.nz
