Summer line-up revealed for Selwyn Gallery

The Selwyn gallery in Darfield will present a summer exhibition with a range of artists and a wide variety of mediums.
The Selwyn Gallery Summer Collection will open in the gallery this Friday and run through until February next year.
Malvern Community Arts Council arts coordinator Rose Gerard said the collection will showcase all mediums of art.
“On show will be artworks by Philip Beadle, Cathie Bell, Mike Clarke, Karl Ridgen, John Bromley, Ann Wilson, Neil Hey, Melanie Drewery, and Roger Chaplin and Carol Bromley’s beautiful fabric doorstops.
“We have teapots, scarves, ceramics, jewellery and wood carvings. Amongst our regular members works we are pleased to have Roy Sargent, Claire Vivien Wratten and Tori Batt.
“This diverse range of works will be available for immediate sale and will have something to appeal to everyone.”
Ms Gerard said Claire Wratten who lives in Lincoln, has been drawing all of her life.
“She works in all mediums and subjects, from landscapes and historic buildings in England to the changing world of the South Pacific where she lives now.”
Tori Batt, who lives in Le Bons Bay on Banks Peninsula recently exhibited her work at the Ashburton Arts Exhibition and won the Trustpower Water and Nature Award.
Roy Sargent lives in England but has family in the Selwyn district and his works have been shown as an artist member at the Selwyn Gallery over many years.
