Boil water lifted

A Boil Water Notice for properties connected to the Lake Coleridge water supply has been lifted.

The Selwyn District Council is advising all households on the supply they no longer need to boil their water.

The Boil Water Notice was put in place after a mains power outage disrupted the UV treatment system on the supply.

While no E.coli was detected in the water supply, council couldn’t guarantee the water was safe to drink, so the Boil Water Notice was put in place. A council spokesperson said they have received water sampling results which show that the water is now safe to drink.

“We appreciate residents’ patience while the Boil Water Notice has been in place.”
