Library hours trial begins

As part of an extended hours trail for Selwyn district libraries a number of family-friendly activities have been planned for every Saturday at all four libraries.

Libraries manager Vicki Carlyon said the extended Saturday hours mean programmes and activities will be available in the weekends as well as during the week.

“We wanted to provide a range of fun and interesting activities for everyone to enjoy on their Saturday afternoons.

There’s something for all ages on offer,” she said.

“The ‘Time for Fun’ activities will differ each week between the four libraries, beginning this Saturday. “Most events are for all ages, including for adults, but children younger than eight years old will require active adult supervision.

“There’s a wide range of events including Lego, Christmas crafts, giant colouring in, board games, BeeBots, tech sessions, Storytime and Rhymetimes,” Mrs Carlyon said.
