Greenpark go top

by Kent Caddick

Greenpark has bumped Lincoln off the top of the table in the Selwyn premier netball table after the latest round of matches.

Greenpark upset Broadfield 71-52 at the Lincoln Events Centre on Saturday to go to the top of the table albeit on points differential.

The team is now tied with Lincoln on eight points with Lincoln sweeping aside the challenge of Southbridge 79 to 26.

Greenpark’s win follows on from its 82-24 thumping of West Melton the previous week and has pushed it into the lead of the competition after two matches of round three.

West Melton put in one of its best performances of the season against Halswell but couldn’t keep up the pressure throughout the match allowing Halswell to claim victory 64-31.

This weekend Greenpark will be keen to keep the pressure on Lincoln when it comes up against Halswell, Broadfield will look to resurrect its season against Southbridge while West Melton faces an uphill battle against Lincoln.
