Selwyn farmers, athletes, artists, scientists, or entrepreneurs, are being invited to apply for an AMP Scholarship to enable them to achieve their goals.
This year, AMP is giving away up to $200,000 to help talented New Zealanders of all ages pursue their dreams through the scholarships.
AMP regional business advisor Greg Stanley said whether the dream is a new business, launching a community-focussed project, providing educational opportunities, or representing New Zealand at the Olympics, a scholarship will help.
Last year, Canterbury teenager Angus McWilliam was awarded $5,000 to pursue his basketball dreams of joining New Zealand team the Tall Blacks and ultimately, the NBA.
Angus has just returned from Cairo, Egypt, where he competed in the FIBA U19 World Championships, with the New Zealand Junior Tall Blacks.
“Not only did the money help me gain overseas playing experience but it enabled me to secure the pathway to my future in basketball with Texas Christian University,” Angus said.
Also, this year, eight Adviser Businesses in the AMP Financial Adviser Network will each offer a $5,000 scholarship to help businesses in their region.
Applications are open until August 13 and for more information, or to apply online, go to www.amp.co.nz.
