Environmental video comp
by Kent Caddick
Selwyn schools and environmental groups are being reminded to get their entries in for Lincoln Envirotown Trust’s annual environmental video competition.
Schools and groups are being asked by Lincoln Envirotown Trust (LET) to produce a short video, up to five minutes in length, that carries an environmental message and if possible suggest action on the subject.
LET project manager Dave Fitzjohn said Selwyn schools have in the past been enthusiastic in their support of the event with last year’s competition winner being Weedons School which received the Kea Trophy. “We are aware of the excellent work schools are doing in regard to making their students aware of environmental and sustainability issues.
Mr Fitzjohn said the competition isn’t just open to schools.
“People can be as creative as they like, using any combination of animation, video or slides to carry their environmental message.”
The deadline for entries is August 25, and for more information go to www.videocompetition.eventbrite.co.nz or call Dave Fitzjohn 03 423 0445.
