Full Monty on show in Kirwee

Kirwee Players is in its 41st year and this year’s production is bound to set people’s hearts racing and parental guidance may be needed.

This year’s musical, ‘The Full Monty’, is based on the movie of the same name and is set in a town where the men have been made redundant from the local steel works.

When their wives and girlfriends pay to see a male strip show, the men figure they could try their hands at it and make a mountain of cash in just one night.

For the third year in a row the Kirwee Players’ creative team is Phil Dean (director), Darren Weber (musical director), Anna Randall (choreographer) and Caelan Thomas (pianist).

“Once again they have enjoyed working together, had many laughs and enjoyed working with a bunch of new talent from the growing district of Selwyn,” publicist Courtney Hyde said.

“The Full Monty is sure to have people in stitches, so after three years of sell out shows, don’t miss out on tickets for this one, it’s going to be a showstopper.”

The show opens at the Kirwee Community Hall on Friday, July and 28 and runs through until Saturday, August 5, although there will be no performances on July 31 (Monday) and August 1 (Tuesday).

Tickets are available from www.eventfinder.co.nz or the Darfield Pharmacy.
