Lincoln too powerful

by Kent Caddick

Lincoln’s dominance of the Selwyn premier netball championship continued on the weekend with a comprehensive win over Southbridge.

The defending champion maintained its grip on the top of table with a 81–33 thumping of Southbridge at the Lincoln Events Centre on Saturday.

While the youthful Southbridge started the game well it had little answer to the power of the Lincoln side which is sporting some new faces this season.

Second placed Greenpark was equally dominant in its match with bottom placed Burnham recording a 50-point winning margin to take the game 83–33, to keep Burnham winless this season.

In the other match of the round, Broadfield was pushed by Halswell but in the end ran out comfortable winner 60–47, securing third spot in the competition.
