Skate school comes to West Melton
by Sara-Jane Ludemann
It was spills and thrills for many West Melton youngsters this week with the running of a Skate Jam at the local school.
The event was put on by Selwyn District Council and was one in a series of similar events held across the district during summer.
Instructors from the Cheapskates Skate Skool were on hand to help the youngsters, and equipment hire was free. There was a good turnout for the event with the youngsters giving it a go on skateboards, scooters and inline skates, while council’s events team provided the music and a sausage sizzle.
