Busy weekend for Leeston

by Anonymous Author

There was plenty for Leeston residents to do over the weekend with the town’s annual street fete on Saturday followed by a Music on the Green event on Sunday.

The Music on the Green event was the last of the Selwyn District Council’s summer event programme which has seen Music on the Green events held across the district. Despite the cooler temperatures, there was a reasonable turnout with parents enjoying the music and the younger ones taking advantage of the other entertainment on offer. The Leeston Street Fete on Saturday was extremely popular with a large number of stalls and plenty of bargain hunters wandering the town’s main street which had been closed off for the event. The Record photographer Sara-Jane Ludemann was at both events.
