Lincoln shooter makes national team

Trap shooter and Lincoln University Sports Scholar Kristy Havill has won her first national titles and qualified for the national side at the recent New Zealand Championships in Hamilton.
Allied Petroleum’s fuel stop in Sheffield is to close temporarily for at least two months to allow a revamp of its facilities.
Kristy won the Ladies titles in the Triples and Points Score events, but that was not her only success in the event.
The South Island Ladies team she was in beat the North Island Ladies team in the annual match between them.
She was also equal top qualifier for the New Zealand Ladies team.
“It was a goal of mine before I went away to win one national title, but to win two was a bonus,” she said.
“Another goal of mine, as it is every year, was to make a New Zealand team, whether it be Ladies, Juniors or the Open team — so it was a big week all round.”
Kristy said the support she receives from the Lincoln University Sports Scholarship programme is a crucial element in her achievements.
In the months ahead she will be competing in provincial and district events to gain qualifying scores for the World Championships in Australia in 2018.
